Upward (military project) : ウィキペディア英語版 | Upward (military project) UPWARD was the code name, within the National Reconnaissance Office's Byeman Control System, for assistance given to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) during Project Apollo.〔(National Reconnaissance Office: "Memorandum by DNRO Flax to Dep SECDEF, 6 Jul 1967: National Recon Program (NRP) Issues and Pending Decisions." )〕〔(Day, Dwayne, "Black Apollo," The Space Review, 29 Nov 2010. )〕〔(Day, Dwayne,: "Apollo: secrets and whispers," The Space Review, 6 Dec 2010. )〕 The system would have flown a KH-7 GAMBIT camera into Earth orbit, for transport to the moon to perform mapping surveys.〔 According to the NRO/NASA agreement, lunar photography could be sanitized by eliminating camera scale factors. The project had the unclassified name of Lunar Mapping and Survey System (LM&SS) in NASA channels.〔 The success of both Lunar Orbiter and Surveyor negated the use of the LM&SS system. No system ever flew in space. ==See also==
